Game-changing Community Learning ecology established After a successful community event late last year, St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock has been hard at work preparing for the launch of its ‘Young Entrepreneurs’ program in January 2021. Despite COVID-19 and the related lockdown, the school has (with its partner, Alphacrucis College) successfully mapped the HSC and alternative pathways for Young Entrepreneurs at the College, and is ready to enrol these future business pioneers in early June. In order to connect SPCC’s Young Entrepreneurs to the Cessnock community, the school and its tertiary partner, Alphacrucis College, is making entrepreneurship resources freely available to the Cessnock community and its region. The first of these -- the CENetwork’s Podcast monthly series -- was launched on 15 May. SPCC Parents and Cessnock business people can tune in by going to this site: http://www.cfs.ac/cenetwork.html. Trauma Informed and Hope Filled CommunitiesAs this series is being developed, we are in what people are calling an “unprecedented” time. For those who have responsibility for others, their desire to care can rise to almost overwhelming heights. That can be especially so when we believe that care is essential for how we live. This series is written with the same heart of care – we wish to support those who are looking out for others in their worlds. For those in Christian schools, this will be a focus for the Boards of schools, the Principal and the rest of the Senior Executive, and of course, for all the teachers and support staff as they daily interact with the students and their families. For those in churches and care settings, we are already finding ourselves having to respond with new and updated approaches. Our hope is to aid you being able to maintain your heart of care while being realistic about the strategies and resources at your disposal. This training series is comprised of four, 1.5 hours courses designed to give leaders, teachers and pastoral care / wellbeing staff further understanding of individual and community wellbeing. The course outlines are below. Grace and peace, The Alphacrucis Team Cost: The individual cost for each course is $100. If your organisation is entering 10 or more participants, the cost of the course is $90, if more than 20, $80.
